It took a while, but here I am.

Quick first post is a question. Where does everyone buy their cigars from on a regular basis?

I buy individuals on a weekly basis, never amassing more than a couple in stock at any given time. In Stratford, unless I am mistaken, you can only go to the BuZZStop now for a decent but small selection. In Kitchener I go to a convienience store on Erb St. (for the life of me I can not remember the name, its between Fisher Halmand and University) and they have an excelent walk-in humidor with a large selection. The humidor is approximatly 20' x 8' and well maintained. There is another small humidor on King St, downtown Kitchener inside of an old hotel. Again, the name escapes me. I also found a great little humidor in Niagara on the Lake this summer. Not overpriced like everything in the Falls. I think the name was Chucks Smoke Shoppe, or some such nonsence. It is beside the only grocery store on the main street. Bit of a drive, but if you're in the area.....

Most recent favorite smoke has been a Don Tomas Maduro. I am forever forgetting the size and quite often the classification of the cigars that I enjoy. I never forget the cigar itself, just the usefull information.

Rob

I have the corinitas for when there isn't time for a full smoke. Golfing, cold nights, jam sessions, etc.

I haven't had the Don Tomas coronitas.

I usually prefer corona and larger cigars

I will start to purchase by the box someday, but for now it is not in the cards.

If the cigar I am buying comes packaged with 3 or 5 or 10, depending on the style and make, I may chose to purchase a package. Something along the lines of an inexpensive Guantanamera (there is one that I particularily like due to the easy draw and great flavor, but as usual, can't remember which one - starts with a "P" perhaps) I have started buying the small box of 5, or if I want the Don Tomas corinita's I will buy the tin. Speaking of the corinita, have you had them and what is your opinion? I find that they are an extreamly hard draw 90% of the time. I love the flavour but don't always enjoy due to the work that goes into them. I normally take them golfing due to the size.

I got into the habit years ago to maintain my own humidor so that I would have a selection on hand whenever I wanted a cigar and it also coincided with some family members taking a vacation in Cuba and buying a couple of boxes of cigars for me. Since then, I've been mostly buying by the box when family or myself go on vacation and my humidor collection has grown as a result.

Other than imposing on family members on vacation, I mostly buy at the US border duty free shops (where Don Tomas boxes have been $50 USD for over a year).

I've also recently placed a couple of orders from jrcigars.com which I've had shipped to a US based relative who brought them up North for me.

In the past I've also placed a coupe of orders from http://www.cigarexpress.comand I like to window shop at http://www.thompsoncigar.com

I haven't yet had a Don Tomas Maduro but I've had many boxes of the normal colorado variety. I've recently had my first bad experience with one that was blocked about half way down. But after it burned passed the blockage it burned wonderfully.

I think this brand is totally underrated which normally means it's very good value.

This brand is one of the reasons why I tell other cigar lovers that I pefer Honduran tabacco over that of other countries.
