If anyone is interested in attending we would like to sell these tickets as soon as possible. I paid $ 256 for them but am willing to let them go for $ 200. Please reply directly to my E-mail: tsccdiamond@aol.com or call at (519) 273-6396.

Thanks

It took a while, but here I am.

Quick first post is a question. Where does everyone buy their cigars from on a regular basis?

I buy individuals on a weekly basis, never amassing more than a couple in stock at any given time. In Stratford, unless I am mistaken, you can only go to the BuZZStop now for a decent but small selection. In Kitchener I go to a convienience store on Erb St. (for the life of me I can not remember the name, its between Fisher Halmand and University) and they have an excelent walk-in humidor with a large selection. The humidor is approximatly 20' x 8' and well maintained. There is another small humidor on King St, downtown Kitchener inside of an old hotel. Again, the name escapes me. I also found a great little humidor in Niagara on the Lake this summer. Not overpriced like everything in the Falls. I think the name was Chucks Smoke Shoppe, or some such nonsence. It is beside the only grocery store on the main street. Bit of a drive, but if you're in the area.....

Most recent favorite smoke has been a Don Tomas Maduro. I am forever forgetting the size and quite often the classification of the cigars that I enjoy. I never forget the cigar itself, just the usefull information.

I got a couple of these for XMas and had the first one on the weekend.

WOW !!! THEY ARE GREAT !!!

I've had them before but only a couple of times because of, well, cost. At a retail cost of somewhere between $30 to $40 CDN, I'm not going to be having one very often.

I guess I didn't remember how good they really are.

Welcome - Stratford cigar from Shakespeare Cigars

I had this forum created to discuss things related to cigars .. and maybe even find a way to relate that interest of mine to Stratford.

Here's a start:

http://www.cigarcyclopedia.com/news/news.php?c=journal&id=626

”To be or not to be?”
Shakespeare is back.
Once a well-known cigar line, Shakespeare faded from view during the
1990s, but is now being revived by General Cigar Company and Cigars by Santa
Clara, the wholesale side of J-R Cigars.

In its current revival, the line is a mild-bodied, bundled brand, made in the giant General Cigar Dominicana factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. It features a Connecticut-grown natural or Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper around Dominican-grown binder and filler leaves and is available for $1.00-$1.50 a cigar on the J-R website.

As J-R’s Lew Rothman points out, “These are real vintage cigars (the cigar bands have been aged for 10 years!).” There are six sizes: Corona (5 1/2 x 54), Lonsdale (6 1/2 x 43), Oxford (6 x 49), Palma (6 7/8 x 39), Panetela (6 x 32) and __Stratford__ (7 1/2 x 49).

General holds the trademark for Shakespeare, which was apparently created way back in 1872. The original trademark was filed for by the old Tampa, Florida firm of Sanchez & Haya in 1924, later part of Gradiaz, Annis & Co., which became part of General Cigar. Its current trademark ownership dates from 1965.

And a direct link to the JR Cigars site with a picture of the cigar:
http://www.jrcigar.com/index.cfm?page=cig_view&itemcode=SKS3

Here is a direct link to other Shakespeare cigars from that retailer and a brief description of the cigars:
http://www.jrcigar.com/index.cfm?page=cigars&brand=SHAKESPEARE

JR Cigars is the biggest cigar retailer in North America and the maker
of this cigar, General Cigars, is the second biggest cigar making company in the
world.

If you buy some, make sure you give me one!

OpenOffice is a competitor to Microsoft office (originally from Sun Microsystems)

It is free to download and use, and follows the open document standard (information about the coding of the data files is freely available so other programs can read them too). These 2 points makes it very attractive to organizations who want long term access to their data files.

Additionally, it is available for many operating systems which provides additional assurance that future access to your data should not be lost.
